Call For Events And Activities: Join Us For European Safer Gambling Week 2026
21.09.2026
EGBA invites organisations to take part in this year’s European Safer Gambling Week, with events and activities to be registered by 19 October.
Brussels, 21 September 2026 – With this year’s European Safer Gambling Week approaching on 16-22 November 2026, the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) is inviting stakeholders to participate in this annual initiative by organising events and activities about safer gambling.
These initiatives should work towards the shared aims of the week: raising awareness of safer gambling practices and the tools available to players, and signposting the support services and help resources in each country. The week also aims to facilitate the exchange of best practices across the sector and encourage meaningful discussion about the latest developments in regulation and research.
Last year’s edition saw record participation, with 221 partners taking part across 24 countries, 4.1 million social media users reached with safer gambling messages, and 23 events across Europe bringing together over 2,500 attendees and 120 speakers. The 2025 edition also brought the campaign’s safety messages to televised football matches and retail betting outlets for the first time.
“European Safer Gambling Week is an important moment in the year – a chance for all of us to take stock of where we are on safer gambling and to have open, honest conversations about what more can be done. Last year’s events programme and discussions were excellent, and we’d like this year’s to be even better. If you’re thinking about organising something, get in touch early, so we can build the strongest possible programme,” said Pierre Tournier, Interim Secretary General, EGBA.
The sixth edition of European Safer Gambling Week[1] will again be underpinned by a player-facing social media campaign sharing safety messages in local languages and a programme of events across Europe.
EGBA invites operators, regulators, trade associations, harm prevention organisations, technology providers, research institutions, sports clubs, and experts-by-experience to participate in European Safer Gambling Week 2026 by, for example:
- Organising events such as webinars, workshops, or panel discussions.
- Announcing or launching new safer gambling initiatives during the week.
- Contributing to the social media campaign.
- Hosting training sessions for staff or customers.
- Releasing research, surveys, or data insights on safer gambling.
- Partnering with support organisations to raise awareness of help services.
Not every contribution needs to be an event. Many partners take part simply by sharing the campaign’s safety messages through their own channels during the week, using the materials provided by EGBA.
If you are planning an event or activity, please let us know as early as possible – the sooner we know, the better we can shape the programme and avoid scheduling clashes. To be included in the programme, please register your event or activity by Monday 19 October.
Branding materials, including logos and social media graphics in local languages, will be available upon request from 1 October to support your planned initiatives.

EGBA collaborates with national and EU authorities and other stakeholders to foster a well-regulated online gambling market that protects consumers and channels consumer demand towards regulated operators. As part of its commitment to player protection, EGBA also organises the annual European Safer Gambling Week, bringing together industry stakeholders to promote safe and sustainable play.
EGBA members collectively hold over 400 online gambling licences – each with its own strict compliance requirements – to offer their services across 22 European countries. Beyond these requirements, members also adhere to EGBA’s industry standards and codes on responsible advertising, anti-money laundering, and player protection. Together, they account for approximately 30% of Europe’s online gambling gross gaming revenue.
