Maarten Haijer
Secretary General
Maarten Haijer is the Secretary General of the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), representing the leading online gambling operators licensed and regulated in the EU. Before joining the EGBA as director for regulatory affairs, Maarten worked as the internal market and consumer protection counsellor at the Netherlands permanent representation to the EU. Dr. Ekaterina Hartmann
Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs
Prior to working at EGBA, Ekaterina worked on complaint and infringement handling in relation to the legislation of DG Health and Consumers at the European Commission. Other work experience includes work as an Assistant to a Member of European Parliament and in a Brussels-based consultancy. Ekaterina holds a Ph.D in Health Policy from the Medical University- Sofia as well as an LL.M in European Law and a B.A. in European Studies, both from the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands. Barry Magee
Senior Communications Manager
Prior to joining EGBA, Barry worked for seven years in the biofuels sector for the European renewable ethanol association (ePURE) and two years for the European Commission’s Representation in the United Kingdom, primarily in a communications function. He has previous experience working in national politics in the UK, Ireland and the USA and holds Master’s degrees in Law and Governance (LLM), Rural Development and Project Management (MSc) and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (BA) from Queen’s University Belfast. Vasiliki Panousi
Manager - EU Affairs
Before starting work at EGBA, Vasiliki worked at a media trade association in Brussels, focusing on EU digital market issues. She also worked at the European Commission in DG CNECT and DG EAC. Vasiliki is a qualified lawyer and holds a master degree in European Law from Maastricht University. In addition to her native Greek, she speaks English, Spanish and French. Daniele Perrone
Senior Regulatory Affairs and Policy Advisor
Prior to joining EGBA, Daniele worked in an association advocating for the interests of small and medium european enterprises. He also did a traineeship in the Supervision & Enforcement unit of the European Data Protection Supervisor. Daniele holds a Master's degree in Law from the University of Foggia.
