The theme of this issue is anti-money laundering, and in particular the European Commission's proposal for a fourth anti-money laundering (AML) directive. This initiative, if adopted as currently drafted, will for the first time bring the entire EU online gambling industry within its scope. While the EGBA welcomes any and all moves to mainstream the online gambling sector into EU rule-sets – including this important piece of legislation – the devil, as always, will be in the detail.
