[Webinar] Artificial Intelligence and online gambling: What are the opportunities and challenges for safer gambling?

Over the past years, online gambling companies, like many other online businesses, have been increasingly making use of artificial intelligence (AI). This trend will likely continue in the years to come as almost all EU Member States have introduced licensing regimes for online gambling and, as part of their licensing requirements, online gambling companies are required to actively monitor and engage with their customers to help prevent problem gambling behaviour. In this respect, the benefits of AI use are clear: it can allow online gambling companies to monitor and track their customers’ gambling behaviour in real-time, helping with the early detection of harmful gambling behaviour and strengthening intervention strategies in support of safer gambling and harm reduction and prevention. But the deployment of AI relies on the use of personal data, which also brings into play questions around ethics and customer privacy.
The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) invites you to join us on 5 November for a webinar to explore and discuss the deployment of AI in the online gambling sector and the opportunities and challenges it presents for protecting consumers and informing the safer gambling strategies of both regulatory authorities and online gambling companies in Europe. This webinar is organised by the EGBA as part of European Safer Gambling Week 2021.
